The Abstraction
Start with what you know. Look beneath the familiar React Native surface.
A practical path from JavaScript and React Native to confident
native iOS and Android engineering.
You know JavaScript. You think in React. You can ship a React Native app. Then a feature sends you into ios/ or android/—and suddenly, the familiar tools disappear.
Xcode. Gradle. Swift. Kotlin. A stack trace from somewhere underneath the bridge.
You’re not starting over.
You’re just opening the next layer.
“This isn’t a course created by someone standing outside the problem. It’s a bridge built by someone who had to cross it.”
I’m Naman. My path took me from C/C++ to JavaScript, React Native, and mobile SDK engineering at Adobe. I know what it feels like when a familiar abstraction ends and an unfamiliar platform begins.
Personal story · More from this journey coming soonYou don’t need another generic JavaScript course. You need help crossing the gap between the APIs you use and the platforms that power them.
You don’t need to become a native expert overnight. Just comfortable enough to say:
“I know where to look.
Let’s understand it.”
This is the part we’re crossing together.
One concept at a time. Start with the familiar, then follow the thread.
Start with what you know. Look beneath the familiar React Native surface.
Find the point where JavaScript hands things over to the platform.
Follow a library from its JavaScript API to its native implementation.
Small examples. Clear diagrams. The connection between JavaScript and the native layer.
Try a change. Break something. Learn to find your way through unfamiliar tools.
A quick reaction, a question, an idea. We build the next part of the bridge together.
The goal isn’t to leave React Native behind. It’s to move comfortably between the layers when the problem demands it.
Read a native repository. Ask a better question. Open an issue. Make your first contribution. There’s a whole mobile engineering community on the other side.
Let’s build the bridge togetherYou decide, not me. This bridge is being built in the open, and honest answers shape what gets built next — and whether it should be built at all.
Tell me what a React Native developer like you actually needs on the native side. It takes a couple of minutes.
No spam. No sales funnel. Just a developer trying to build the right thing.
